Jay Larson

President/General Manager

Jay is a native of Dawson County in central Nebraska and a graduate of the University of Nebraska.  He has worked in the agricultural coop system since 1983 when accepting a position at United Cooperative in Hampton, Nebraska.  In 1994 he was named General Manager of United Cooperative.  He remained in that cooperative organization until assuming the position of General Manager/President of NIK Marketing Cooperative in Kearney, Nebraska in July 2003.

In his role as General Manager of NIK, Jay is responsible for and works with all activities of the organization.  He reports to a nine-member Board of Directors elected by the NIK membership. 

Jay has served and held leadership positions on many Boards during his career including TEGMA, the National Grain Car Council, Nebraska Coop Council, Nebraska Coop Managers Association along with numerous civic and public education Boards.


Troy Bower

Troy lives in Stillwater, Oklahoma and is a graduate of Oklahoma State University.  He has worked for NIK since 2005.  For the 20 years prior to NIK, he worked for several different companies including Koch Industries and Aquila where he was involved in trading and physical delivery of commodities including fertilizer, fuel and electricity.


In his role as Vice President of Fertilizer, Troy is responsible for helping the members of NIK with their fertilizer buying decisions.  He is accountable for forecasting, procurement, risk management, and delivery of the NIK member’s fertilizer demand. 


Brad Parman

Brad Parman is originally from southwest Nebraska.  Graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and still currently resides in the Kearney area.  After graduation, he started a Personal Finance and Investment business.   Joined NIK in 2012 and oversees all fertilizer logistics, contract management, and a percentage of the fertilizer purchasing for the current membership.  


Brian Groskreutz

Transportation Coordinator

Brian Groskreutz, Transportation Coordinator

Brian is native of Litchfield, Minnesota and is a Transportation Coordinator for NIK, a position he has held since 1995.  His current responsibilities are to manage the rail activities of member cooperatives grain and fertilizer movements.  He also markets Dust Suppressant to the Grain and Fertilizer Industry.  Prior to NIK, he was a merchandiser for the Maywood Coop in North Platte, NE and held various positions with Cargill in Minnesota, Kansas and Montana.   Brian earned his undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin and holds a graduate degree from the University of Nebraska Kearney.  He currently serves on the National Grain Car Council, the Kearney Catholic High School Foundation Board of Directors, the St James Parish Finance Committee, is a member of TEGMA and the National Grain and Feed Association.    


Will Goding

Will is a graduate of Hastings College with a degree in economics.  He started working in the coop system for Ag Valley Coop, Edison, Ne during wheat harvest in 1999.  While attending college he worked for Compliance Advisory Services in Hastings, NE assisting customers with regulatory compliance questions.  After college he worked in the grain department at Farmers Cooperative in Dorchester, NE.

Will started at NIK Marketing in the fall of 2006 managing fertilizer and mineral oil logistics.  While still helping in those areas he became controller in the spring of 2012.


Teckla Friedel


Teckla Friedel, Accounting

Teckla is a graduate from the University of Nebraska-Kearney with a BS degree in Business Administration – emphasis Economics. Prior to joining NIK in 2008, she worked at the US Bank. Teckla is originally from Kenya and is fluent in three languages. She and her husband, Tim live in Kearney and have a daughter, Gabby.
